Nothing makes separating a subject from the background easier than Photoshop’s quick selection tool and a Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet as Tiffany did here in this summer layout.
The beach has been my heart for as long as I can remember. We’re lucky enough to be in walking distance! I often create layouts, sometimes at random, of different experiences we have at the beach. It may be something as complex as spending an entire day at the beach. Or it could be something simple, like watching the waves crash or the smell of the sea salt. I’m just a simple beach girl at heart.
Photoshop CS3 is my exclusive photo-editing software of choice when creating layouts for my scrapbooks. From beginning to end I work with my Bamboo and the pen. Using the pen combined with brush strokes, layer effects and a few “beachy” digital products give my layouts a custom look which is what I aim for whenever I create a layout. Most of my layouts start out with a digital technique rather than a specific group of elements or accents. I always want to create the look around my photos so the techniques come first. Then the products are arranged around the purpose of the page.
Nothing is without merit on my pages; each element, color, stroke of the pen, or path created works in the overall design. Matter of fact, I am constantly removing and refining items until it works as a whole. My Bamboo works perfectly for this purpose too. I have carpal tunnel in my right hand and it’s less aggravated when I use the pen.
My style has been greatly influenced by my tablets. I can visualize a design in my mind and draw, color, and fine tune any detail on my layout. It’s allowed my designs to open up visually and become carefree which is exactly like my personality. I want my pages to speak for me; a representation of who I am inside. I still love to create using non-digital products and paper, but I’m a fully developed scrapbooker with my Bamboo … and lots of fun digital products.
Dear Tiffany
I love this one too. And, I appreciate your description of how you accomplished it using your Bamboo. I’m looking for digital tools I can use during arthritis flare-ups. I think I might get a lot of use out of it.
