One of the best things about the Bamboo Fun tablet is the ability to customize the four function buttons. They can be changed to commonly used shortcut keys in Photoshop. Here is how:
1. Open the Pen Tablet Properties software on your computer

2. Select the Tablet Tab.

3. Click on the drop down menu for the first button.

4. There are several options to choose from. Choose Keystroke from the list.

5. Type the keystroke you want to record for the button. In this example, use Ctrl-S to save the file. Click OK.

6. Give the button a name. This one is called Save. Click OK.

Once you have finished defining all the buttons, simply close the Pen Tablet dialogue box. The keystroke you recorded will now play every time you press that button, in whatever program you are using.
I would like to know what shortcuts you use
Many Feathers, I personally only use a few because I like to keep the pen in my hand for navigation (so I tend to use my left hand for shortcuts). But here are some suggestions from myself and other DSP staff also. Open Photoshop (so convenient!), duplicate layer (Ctrl J) is used so often, copy, paste, transform (Ctrl T), layer up (Ctrl ] ), layer down (Ctrl [ ), inverse selection, paste into (Shift Ctrl V), save (Ctrl S).
I’d just suggest you use the ones you’re using over and over again.
Great suggestion Margie. That is exactly how I determined which keystrokes/shortcuts to program in to the tablet and pen.
It is such and easy thing to do and this is a great tutorial.
Darn the luck…I will have to go home to program my buttons. Can’t wait!
Thank you v ery helpful.
