I love the look of hand drawn items in my layouts. It makes me feel like I am working traditionally when I scrapbook, even though I’m actually doing it digitally. For this tutorial, I am using Adobe Illustrator to write out Ashley’s name and create some fun word art.

Watch the video for a full tutorial, but here are some tips!

A) Double-clicking the brush icon in your tools palette will allow you to turn off and on the “Keep Selected” choice that I mention. (insert screen01.jpg)

B) Create a new brush in the brush palette by clicking on the arrow drop-down item and choose, New Calligraphic Brush. (insert screen02.jpg)

C) Next, be sure to change the diameter to “Pressure” and then adjust your diameter and variation as needed. (insert screen03.jpg)

D) Don’t forget to deselect your word art when adding on new strokes to avoid losing your original.

Just copy and paste into your Photoshop layout and recolor, adorn, and make it your own!
