The Pen Scrappers

Michelle Coleman

I have been scrapbooking for nine years, three and a half of those years I have been strictly digital. I love digital because it allows me a certain level of confidence in my pages. I know I can play around with my photos and layouts until they perfectly reflect the image or mood I am trying to portray. I feel less afraid of making mistakes (love that undo button!) and because of that I feel that my digital pages really do reflect my personal style. I find myself more capable of pushing the limits of what I thought was possible. I feel very fortunate for the opportunities that have come to me in this industry. Each one has helped to make me a better scrapper and a better designer. I have been a product designer for Fancy Pants Designs for 3 years, I am a contributing editor for Memory Makers Magazine, I am founder and owner of littledreamerdesigns.com, and I have been able to teach many digital classes throughout the United States and will be traveling to Europe this fall to teach abroad. I have just recently launched my photography business, littledreamerstudio. Lately I have enjoyed portraiture almost as much as designing and scrapping. However, whether I call myself a photographer with a flair for design or a designer and scrapbooker with a passion for photography, memory keeping is my life. I use my tablet in all areas of my designing and scrapbooking; I couldn’t get along without it. It’s just like taking pen to paper, only better, because of all the digital tools that are so readily at my disposal.
